EVERYDAY MATCHA

Better tools.
Better matcha.

To bring out the best in high-quality matcha, you need skill—and a deep understanding of the tea.

You also need better tools to make the most of that skill. We’ve seen this happen in coffee, where tools have evolved alongside the craft. We believe matcha deserves the same attention.

CAFÉ REALITY

The whisk didn’t fail.
The expectation changed.

Bamboo chasen after use in a café trial

New and after 3 days of café use.
An example from the presentation.

The traditional bamboo chasen is an essential tool for the tea ceremony. But it was not designed for a modern café making two hundred to three hundred matcha drinks a day.

3 LAYERS

Fine, beautiful foam.

Illustration of the structure. The outer and middle parts are bonded together; they do not separate this way in actual use.

Using our resin-molding technology, we created a 3-layer structure. This makes mixing easier and helps even less experienced users create fine, beautiful foam.

MOVEMENT

Less wrist movement.

The prototype in use. A closer look at the whisking movement.

The longer handle increases the distance between the pivot point in your hand and the tips of the whisk. This lets the tips move farther with smaller wrist movements. The aim is to reduce strain when you’re whisking hundreds of drinks a day.

Bamboo and ARAS handle lengths

The handle is 1.5× as long as the traditional handle shown here.

BEYOND THE CUP

From the cup
back to the farm.

Fresh tea leaves on a tea farm

When better drinks help people appreciate better tea, we believe that can support tea farmers and their efforts to improve quality. That connection—from the cup back to the farm—means a great deal to us.
