PROTOTYPE EDITION
To unlock the full potential of matcha.

EVERYDAY MATCHA
To bring out the best in high-quality matcha, you need skill—and a deep understanding of the tea.
You also need better tools to make the most of that skill. We’ve seen this happen in coffee, where tools have evolved alongside the craft. We believe matcha deserves the same attention.

CAFÉ REALITY

New and after 3 days of café use.
An example from the presentation.
The traditional bamboo chasen is an essential tool for the tea ceremony. But it was not designed for a modern café making two hundred to three hundred matcha drinks a day.

3 LAYERS

MOVEMENT
The longer handle increases the distance between the pivot point in your hand and the tips of the whisk. This lets the tips move farther with smaller wrist movements. The aim is to reduce strain when you’re whisking hundreds of drinks a day.

The handle is 1.5× as long as the traditional handle shown here.

MATERIALS
We started with the performance we needed, then tested different resins. After repeated testing, we selected a specialty resin.
Handles hot water.
Handles dishwasher cleaning.
Holds its shape well.
Does not transfer unwanted odors to the matcha.
EVERYDAY CARE
We designed the whisk to come apart easily into the sections shown here. This makes it easier to clean thoroughly and maintain good hygiene.

BEYOND THE CUP

When better drinks help people appreciate better tea, we believe that can support tea farmers and their efforts to improve quality. That connection—from the cup back to the farm—means a great deal to us.
